We currently have backup and tools, which use appassembler (creating a bundle with lib/ and bin/ folders, and shell scripts to run the apps); they both have the exact same custom assembly descriptor. It should be fairly easy to move it to our common assemblies jar, or to update the existing ones to work for these too.
