Since we've moved to 1.5 almost everywhere now, and are moving to 1.6 for the main project, it would make sense to have a default value for the javaVersionForTests property which has the same value as javaVersion, so one only has to define javaVersion to use 1.5 or 1.6 in both production and test code.
