Based on this ticket CONTEDIT-136 we came up with a solution that is easier to implement.

Problem:
Link fields have a fixed with. With the new style of the content editor link fields (add image… / add poster… etc. ) look strange: the button is positioned offsite on the right side disconnected from the placeholder text.

Solution:
If link fields have no value they have a fixed width of 190px. The short placeholder text fits into that width. All buttons, selects, etc are vertically aligned at 190px so the editor UI looks much tidier.

If the link field has a value (an image has been selected) it expands to the full width. The link field and according button is then nicely aligned with the image preview above.

Note

• Make sure this is applied to all link fields in the content editor.
• Make sure other fields such as date field, dropdowns, etc. have the same width 190px so they are all nicely aligned.
