With only the required fields from the article outline filled in, a journalist wants to publish the article on the web quickly. The actual article story will be written later on.

      Goals

      • Inside the article editor UI, I can publish the article quickly.
        • I stay in the editor and can continue to write the actual article story.
        • Or I can leave the editor and write that story later.
      • The article outline is published as-is to the web. This typically does not require any review by a managing editor or reviewer.
      • We use a default template for the article and publish it to a default location.

      Interaction and visual design

We offer three buttons in the bar at the bottom of the article editor UI.

      • "Save": saves the article and keeps the editor open. I can continue to write it.
      • "Publish": saves the article, then publishes it. Again the editor is kept open and I can continue to write the story.
      • "Cancel": closes the editor UI. Any unsaved changes are discarded without further notice.

Clicking on the "x" of the tab does the same as clicking on "cancel".

"Save" is the default button and thus on the very right. "Publish" is also important, and thus appears green as well, while "Cancel" is demoted to being a black button only.

Note that these buttons need not be configurable for the time being. It's fully ok to hard code actions for the first release.
