Description
There needs to be some way for content editors to know if a page has been scheduled for publication. Ideally there would be an icon in the status column of the Pages app which indicates a page has been scheduled for a future date.
If I hover over the icon I should see all upcoming scheduled events. I would want to see:
- The schedule date/time
- The version to be published
- Who published it
To implement this feature we need an observation on the tasks workspace. I want to observe tasks which enter a scheduled state. When scheduled I want to write to a scheduling metadata node on the page node. After the page is published I want to remove the entry for that event.
Other ideas:
- A tab on the page properties dialog for the scheduling.
- Conflict detection. If two sibling pages are scheduled for publication at the same time (or around the same time) there should be some warning mechanism for that. Maybe the scheduling icon turns red.
