There is currently no way for an administrator to gauge/monitor author activity. I envision another button in the admin GUI that will display statistics similar to those available with phpBB forums:

Current users logged on.
Users that have logged on today.
Most number of users ever logged on.
Number of pages added today/this week/this month.
Number of pages updated today/this week/this month.
etc.

There are all sorts of statistics that could be added in the future, but this would serve as a great foundation and provide much needed information to a sys admin.
