At the time of writing, magnolia-empty-webapp contains the Contacts App, as well as magnolia-ui-app-sample. Some other apps/modules are also probably not relevant here (magnolia-ui-app-messages and other tools). They should move to magnolia-bundled-webapp. magnolia-empty-webapp should contain the bare minimum to get Magnolia running.
