We currently do not inform administrators if the product license is about to expire, nor do we actually inform all users, once it has expired.

I've developed a comprehensive UI design solution, which covers all types of licenses and the status in which they can be in. It:

• actively warn administrators if the product license is about to expire or has expired. This includes handling a demo license.
• informs all users as to why certain features and functions all of a sudden disappear or no longer work, once a license has expired.
• provides all with consistent and clear edition and license information plus explanations in a single, well-defined location.

This allows administrators to handle any license purchases and renewals in a timely fashion.

The solution does some additional things (e.g. collecting all installation and setup issues in a single location), but those are a bit outside of the scope of this issue. Such extensions are designed, however.
