It would be nice to allow an empty placeholder value in the SelectFieldDefinition options.
When the field is loaded, the empty placeholder option (can be something like '<Select user type>') is selected by default when no option has been set.

Currently an option without a value property will use the option name for value. This way it's not possible to make an empty selection.
