Pulse icon does not show number of new items

      In testing the Content Importer on CE on 5.5, The pulse icon on the header does not show any indication of the new pulse items. ie a number of the tasks.

      When I open the pulse. I see a number in the TASKS>NEW sub tab. But there is no number in the TASKS tab. For contrast I have also provided a screenshot of a publication workflow which correctly shows a number in the TASKS tab (and in the top pulse icon).

      Note: If I send a message with the Messages app, I do see a the indicator.
