There's no way to specify the value of the "alt" attribute in our current UI to edit the metadata of an asset. At least for images, specifying an "alt" attribute is often described as a "must".
We'd like to offer a convenient way to add a value for the "alt" attribute when editing image metadata (other asset types have not been researched).
Convenience is given here if:
- default values are sensitive
- the UI is aware and supportive in following recommended best practices
- the value of the attribute can be composed using already existing, similar attributes such as "title" or "description to avoid quicker data entry and too many duplicate values.
For some research material and some preliminary sketches, see the UX page on support the "alt" attribute for images.
