The request here is to be able to drag and drop multiple images onto the Upload Asset window and have them all uploaded to the DAM instead of dragging and dropping them one by one or using a ZIP file.

      User story

As an Editor, I can drag&drop multiple files onto the upload field, so I don't have to drag&drop one by one.

      Acceptance criteria

Enabling batch upload to the upload field impacts the workflow in a few places.

      Change actions in action bar

      • change „Upload assets“ to „New asset“ and change icon
      • change „Upload zip archive“ to „Upload assets“ and change icon

      Action "New asset"

      • on click „New asset“ a new asset sub app detail opens (same as todays „Upload asset“)

      • the upload field in the form layout allows only upload of a single asset
      • if multiple assets are dropped show error message „Please drag a single file into this area"

      Action „Upload assets“

      • on click „Upload asset“ a strong dialog opens with an upload field
      • the upload field is smart enough to recognize what file has been dropped such as
        • single file
        • multiple files
        • zip file
        • (maybe folder ?) tbd

      • If a single file is dropped, show…
        • preview
        • title (editable)
        • size
        • format

      • if multiple files are dropped, show…
        • ideally a thumbnail preview
        • or optionally an icon (multiple files)
        • total size of all files
        • radio options („Upload here" or "Upload to new folder“)

      • if a zip file is dropped, show…
        • an icon (zip icon)
        • total size of file
        • radio options („Upload here" or "Upload to new folder“)
        • select box to choose encoding type
