Description
In content apps you can drag&drop items around to move and order them as desired. That's alright.
However this feature unexpectedly doesn't work on the root level, meaning the bug has two aspects:
1) you can't order items on the root level.
2) you can't drag&drop items from deeper levels of the tree to the root level.
For both problems we haven't found any workarounds yet, which makes the bug mildly severe for us.
The bug can be seen on the demoauthor:
- Open https://demoauthor.magnolia-cms.com/.magnolia/admincentral#app:contacts
- try to re-order contacts -> doesn't work
- create a folder and drag&drop some contacts there -> works
- order contacts in that folder by dragging them around -> works
- try to move the contacts from the folder back to root level -> doesn't work
- try to delete the folder without losing the contacts -> doesn't work
We're not interested in the contact app for that matter but our own contact apps in which it's desirable to be able to order items on the respective root levels, because there is business logic involved with the order in which the items are there. Also, it's not a nice situation when you have to keep folders just because you can't move items out of them back to where you want them.
