Customer feedback:
There is no way to add new forum thread messages in the forum app but our client really wants this. So I implemented this by adding an ‘Add message’ action in the appropriate places. See attached files (ps: I reuse the existing editMessage dialog). Maybe you want to add this to the forum app by default? The only thing I have not managed to do is to set the name of the created message node to the creationDate automatically (as is done when you create a message on the frontend). Instead the name is now set to ‘0’ (/’00’ etc). I am not sure how to do this.
