Using Java/JDK 8 + Tomcat 8 RC5 will result in weird image colors (see attached screenshot jvm_1.8.0-ea-b119.png).
Java:
java version "1.8.0-ea" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0-ea-b119) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.0-b61, mixed mode)
Tested with ;
java version "1.8.0_45" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_45-b14) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.45-b02, mixed mode)
openjdk version "1.8.0_91" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_91-b14) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.91-b14, mixed mode)
Both instances had the images properly rendered.
