SearchX 1. In-App search & Top Nav
-
Empty show more show less
Currently, the overall search experience (SearchX) is perceived as slow by editors and marketers who want to find relevant content fast. It also returns a limited range of results which slows down your ability to quickly find the content you are looking for.
We will look at Usability and bring in a more intuitive workflow that will enable editors to find and manage relevant content in a seamless and efficient way.
Phase 1. This epic covers Top Navigation changes, In-App Search for Pages & Assets apps
As an author I search for a known item but I am working with big data sets, and I want to be able to find in-app content faster in a tree structure
- In-App full-text search for Pages and Assets
- Bring in Filtering and Sorting options for In-App search
- Improve hierarchy by applying User-based ranking to In-App search
- The performance of In-App search is improved, not slow
- Pages App | Ability to Filter Pages App by domain
- Assets App | Remove thumbnail view mode for Assets App
Phase 2 MGNLPER-211 will cover Content App in-app search & choosers
Phase 3 MGNLPER-210 will cover Global Search results
Overarching improvements of SearchX
- Seamless results if you search in Global vs In-App
- Improved information hierarchy, legibility, and other usability enhancements when showing results
- Provide meaningful and seamless information in the tables' columns for consistency
- "Go back where I left" Ability to go back to my search results, rather than starting from scratch
- Display path/URL to help identify the right item
