An editor can switch to another variant of the same component using a variants dropdown at the bottom left of the dialog. The dropdown is identical to the one in the component toolbar. It displays the same items. The dropdown is located to the right of the language switcher if multilanguage is enabled. The purpose of the dropdown is to let the editor edit many variants quickly without having to exit the dialog.
