It is not possible to use traits for content personalisation in the legacy pages app. If you want to add a trait an exception is thrown. Because of MGNLUI-6249 you can't see it. You must close the dialog for that.
The bug is reproducable on current demo author.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Pages app, select a page and click edit
- Select one component, click Add Component Variant from action bar
- Then click Choose audience, and click Pick trait button from dialog
