We should remove or hide empty apps. We originally added placeholder apps for the conference to make the app launcher look good.

I'd like to change this now for Alpha1, because:

• if you download a new release, it's less painful to try out stuff, because what's there actually works
• it's also immediately obvious if a new app was added
• it helps us to focus on what's there and less on what's still missing.

People will get used to an appearance with fewer, but more relevant apps, instead of a full list of apps with mainly placeholders in it.
