Description
How do we ensure that user always sees up to date preview images? Do we ensure this - or is it too costly to always render new thumbnails?
Should the system:
- Always rerender previews when thumbnail view is displayed?
- Check modification date on pages?
- Rerender pages after every edit?
- Rerender pages periodically?
- Give up on having them always up to date and Show a date stamp on the preview of when it was rendered?
There are many ways that the thumbnail/preview images for a page could get out of date:
- When the page is edited.
- When any pages that the page includes as subcontent (ie teasers) are edited.
- When the pages/components that the page include are swapped for others (for example when a date filter automatically selects new subconent for a page).
- When a component of a page is edited.
