Bias results from the current app when I start a search from an app.
Benefit: Per user feedback, setting an app filter is too drastic. Users end up clearing the filter most of the time because they want to get to system-wide results. It's annoying. With this change we help the user get to system-wide results quicker while still showing results from the current app first. Remove obstacles., improve usability, make app-search behavior onsistent with Suggestions behavior.
User story:
As a user, when I start a search from an app, show me results from that app first but also show results from other apps.
Acceptance criteria:
- When you put the cursor in the Find Bar:
- Don't add the current app as a search filter. (This is too restrictive.)
- Show top 3 results from the current app, followed by groups of 3 results from other apps. (like in Suggestions)
- When you start typing a search query:
- Show top 10 results from the current app, followed by groups of 10 results from other apps. (like in Suggestions)
This is basically the same behavior as in Suggestions, except that the group of the current app is at the top.
