I am unable to filter data provided by a data source.

I may provide the ability to link to news stories (nodes in a content app) from my home page but only those that have been marked as @generalInterest=true.

A JCR data source definition that accepted a predicate (ideally with its own definition to set the property and expected values) would allow me to provide a filtered list to a workbench choose or select field.
