Description
After a number of queries from Custom Success and Sales, it became clear that there's confusion on what exact SF platform the Marketing Automation pack connects to.
- I would suggest to address this in making a more explicit reference in the documentation, which connector we've been building and testing against
Clarifications reached so far:
- Our Marketing Automation SF connector is currently Sales Cloud
- Sales Cloud is one of the 2 x CRMs that SF offers
- The second CRM platform for them being Service Cloud
- not built against, not tested so far (Mar 2021)
- not built against, not tested so far (Mar 2021)

- Our Marketing Automation SF connector is not SF Marketing Cloud
Further useful information
- We integrated with Salesforce using this API https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.api_rest.meta/api_rest/intro_what_is_rest_api.htm,
- Salesforce named it “Lightning Platform REST API”
- If our customers have Salesforce edition that supports the API above (check “Web Services API” row in this link https://www.salesforce.com/editions-pricing/sales-cloud/, so the editions should be Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited
