Since mgnl 4.5 all the edit bars in an area are hidden. The editor has to click on an area then the edit bar appears. A second click on the "edit icon" opens the edit dialog. If there are nested areas this is not very convenient, because many clicks are needed to edit the content. It would be nice if the editor could double-clicking a content element to open the edit dialog.
