I think it's really great that our admincentral is translated into several different languages. However, I would say a lot of langauge installations are not needed. This creates a few small problems.
- I have a bloated modules directory. All these languages modules appear that I will never have to configure or touch.
- Every module, even a language module still has the basic install tasks. Currently there are about 20 or so language modules installed. This adds time to installation.
- Every time I start and stop I have initialize these modules. And while we are talking milliseconds per module this also adds bloat to sever log. During development I would like to start and stop quicker.
I think it would be better to go with a few common languages, say english, spanish, french, and german. If someone would like to install Chinese then they are free to do that. I might be wrong about this but maybe we could port the language modules to be light modules. Install-able at run time. For me, they barely qualify as modules as they are really just resource files packed together.
