 Description

Steps to reproduce

  1.  Open an app in the demo environment: https://demo.magnolia-cms.com/.magnolia/admincentral#app:pages-app:browser;/travel::
  2.  Right-click on a content item to open the context menu

Expected results

  1. Previously, the action bar was displayed in the location where the user clicked, offering quick access to all options.

Actual results

  1. The menu opens over the top of the action bar. This requires the user to move their mouse pointer across the screen, making the menu redundant.

Development notes

Reproduced in

  • Chrome and Safari on Mac OS 11.5.2
  • Firefox 102.0.1 and Brave 1.41.96(Chromium: 103.0.5060.114) on Linuxmint 20.3 Una

I discovered yesterday that this also affects the new block menu in the content editor framework.
This can be seen in the Stories app in the travel demo.

It affected all the ContextMenu. It is now fixed in 6.2.22

Comment by Jesus Alonso [ 18/Aug/22 ]

Issue fixed removing the previous css and setting the position of the user menu with javascript.

This is still present on 6.2.22 on demoauthor. We're also seeing this on our development environments and during release testing in prep for rolling out 6.2.22.

Comment by Jesus Alonso [ 19/Aug/22 ]

Notice 6.2.22 is the version of the project: admincentral. But admincentral-6.2.22 has not been released yet, it will be in next Magnolia release. Moreover, the fix is not in demoauthor, as it only uses stable artifact (i.e. doesn't use SNAPSHOTs)

Thanks for clearing this up - I'm sure this confusion happens all the time. I will pass this information along so the users know this situation will be short lived.
