As seen here (https://youtu.be/Iqb2_3j8dB4) @ 0:43-0:45, merging two separate parachraphs with the BACKSPACE key must be followed by inserting an extra space (hitting the SPACEBAR key), otherwise the fullstop will be glued to the next sentence. Now, joining two blocks The First paragraph. The Second paragraph. using BACKSPACE produces The First paragraph.The Second paragraph. while it should produce The First paragraph. The Second paragraph. |

Closed as won't fix. The current behavior is how word processors generally behave. If you don't manually introduce a space character after the first paragraph then merging two paragraphs with backspace doesn't leave any space between them. Tested:
