 Description   

In content editor 2.0 save action closes the editor after pressing save button. This didn't happen in the previous editor, in which editors could save their progress and keep on working:

There are users that find this functionality really helpful and would like to have it back in the new content editor.

  • Save, change current behavior --> Save button will save the story and remain on the story detail view
  • Save and publish, as is  Save and publish will save the story and close the story detail view, the author will go back to Stories browser view

Confirming, indeed, on Magnolia 5.7, when you hit save, the edit dialog stays open and you can continue editing there.

However,  if the editor keeps editing (and this would be then the same after this improvement is brought in) - and closes the edit window by clicking the X-close button (on the tab or app), these is no warning that the new edits will be lost  - the dialog closes instantly, effectively dropping any subsequent changes.

So I think that the X-close button should always open the warn dialog after additional changes have been introduced but not saved:
