 Description

We would like to adjust the form for adding a lead image. The current implementation works well from a functional perspective, but has significant deficiencies in usability and visual appearance.

  • It's unclear that the link field for choosing the image plus its descriptive fields belong together actually.
  • The button to select an image is not noticed as too far on the right, and it's not associated with the actual input field.

We would thus like to:

  • Place all lead image form fields into a box (link field, caption, alt text, image source) which looks and works like the "Meta data" box.
That fixes the grouping problem of the form fields.
  • Tell the text input field of the link field to adjust its width according to the value it currently contains (in essence: text input field has "min-width:0" and "width:auto").
This fixes the visibility problem of the "Select New" button by moving it closer to the current field value.
