 Description

Summary

Resurface includes also new icons. Details to be asked by Anja or maybe Mika.
DOCS60 should use these new icons.

Acceptance criteria

Minimum:

Nice to have:

  • Improve the Icons page with a filter to search for icons - for an example see https://icomoon.io/#icons-lindua and try out "Type a keyword ..."
  • Instead of manually adding all the icons to the page ... if possible ... create the "list of icons" (currently the section named Default icons) programmatically ... with a macro.

Most probably we wont have the time for this.
If the Nice to have get's skipped, please create (a) follow-up ticket(s).

Ideas, infos, tips, etc.

"Ideally" it is already sufficient to change the embedding of the icon font in the responsible css.

Most probably will require help from devops to upload a font to dev.magnolia-cms.com.

Try out & test things on wiki-test first.

If changing "confluence configuration" (user macros, CSS and similar), track the changes on git:
https://git.magnolia-cms.com/projects/SYS/repos/confluence-config

The "minimum" as described above is done. ✔︎ To see some results:

  1. https://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/display/DOCS60/Icons
    • all new icons added there as content (based on the latest version of a sass file.
  2. https://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/display/DOCS57/Styling+test
  3. https://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/display/DOCS60/Styling+test

(2) and (3) show that we now have different icon fonts. The icon font is applied on a global level depending on the space name. If we should create DOCS61 or need the new icon font in other spaces too - we must adapt a vmd file.
Currently only DOCS60 is embedding the new icon font. All other spaces embedd the old one.

To properly display the icons some more CSS is required, which currently is applied per space! (Which seems and indeed is not very elegant. The CSS instructions on Confluence are rather messy. I have cleaned up a few things. Doing more would have been beyond the scope of this topic.)

I also was adapting 5 user macros which we use to render node, property, folder, webpage and doc-link. The macros work for both "old" and "new" icons.

Since there was a commit to master (originating from MGNLUI-4573) on the icons project, after my latest changes,
I have to reopen this plus the related SYS-2828 ticket again.

Added the latest CSS version with ALL icons.
SYS-2828 also updated too.

Added a better read-me concerning the icons font usage, see https://git.magnolia-cms.com/projects/SYS/repos/confluence-config/browse/About-ICON-FONTS.md
