 Description

Given that there is a specific rule to disable crop function when user agent is Internet Explorer I think that it would be good to add the corresponding alert in the docs for IE users.

Hi jayala, thanks for entering a doc ticket. I've updated: https://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/display/DOCS57/Editing+images
with

  • a warning about the cropping bug MGNLDAM-761
  • a note beside the Crop action saying it's not supported by IE.

Should I specify IE11 or is the issue wider ranging?
Thanks!
Julie

Feedback from Jonathan integrated. Ported change about crop function not possible in IE11 to 6.0, skipped porting the bug warning as it's in pre-integration QA already.

After a talk we saw that despite being available for IE earlier than 11 crop is not working properly. Additionally according to the certified stack:

  • Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 on January 12, 2016. These browsers are not supported on Magnolia.

Therefore there is no need to specify it for earlier versions of IE.
