 Description

We need some sort of "standard" for documentation screenshots (+annotations on them).

Define tool, script, etc, so they all have the same size and similar annotations.

I think the tool is less important than defining sizes and scale factors. I have used in the past simply full width, half width and quarter with of the page. Full screen shots still do not fit, so define a scale factor resp the width of the screen you are shooting, e.g. "1024", scale down 50%, and your document page width is 512...

Also, I have not written into the screens but just used numbers if there were things I had to relate to. This means we only need to define the style, color and size of the numbers you put onto the screen. See my original Magnolia user manual for examples.

Of course feel free to do it any other way, but the above has worked well. Together with our new ImageFilter module we can even keep the original size images around and readjust the output format whenever we feel like it.

yes - when mentionning those tools, the idea was simply to have a reusable "template" around for numbers and various overlays.
Ultimately all of this could indeed be done through the imagefiltering module; for now, its usage will be limited to resizing/cropping indeed
