Regarding the statement "home can be assigned only once", the second interpretation is correct. A template whose category is home can only be assigned to one page within a site. This page must be the root node of the site. However, you can configure multiple template definitions which all have category home. For example, you might want to create different home page layouts such as stkHome, stkHomeWithoutStage or stkHomeWithExtras and switch between them. Revise doc to make this clear. info.magnolia.module.templatingkit.sites.TemplateAvailability enforces that a template whose category is home can only be used on the site once: //if home category was already used it should be no longer available if(category.equals(TemplateCategory.HOME) && TemplateCategoryUtil.findParentWithTemplateCategory(node, TemplateCategory.HOME) != null){ return false; } The statement "home, section and functional can only be assigned to a page whose parent page is home, section or functional" is also ambiguous.
