Hi, We are planning to upgrade our CMS version from 4.5.3 to 5.x (can you please let us know which is the latest stable version?). We are basically looking for any document which talks about the roadmap/best practices to follow when considering and actually performing the upgrade, something which can give us an idea on the following parts; 1) Planning the upgrade (Hardware requirements etc.) Also, after creating a support ticket, i am not able to add any comments to the issue/ticket, which hampers my ability to interact with the support team for any responses/questions etc. Looks like the commenting ability is disabled for me? Kind Regards, |

Hi Atul, did you find the Migration section in documentation? 1. Re: hardware requirements, the migration process itself is not particularly heavy on performance. To estimate your new production server needs for Magnolia 5, fill the Server sizing questionnaire and Magnolia will get back to you with an answer. You can estimate disk space needs yourself with Disk space. 2. The migration documentation provides a roadmap and descriptions for each step of the migration process. http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/display/DOCS/Migration+process For best practices, watch this webinar. A conference video where a client explains their migration journey. 3. The most important post-upgrade task is comparing the HTML output of your site before and after the migration. This tells you whether M5 produces the same result you had before the migration. As of 21.10.2014:
Finally, if you feel overwhelmed, get in touch. We provide migration support. https://www.magnolia-cms.com/campaigns/migration.html |
