Product ID is not the same as SKU - usually this is the case in commercetools, and usually they're two different numbers

Agree, unfortunately you have to fill in the Product ID in the Product detail component and that number is listed as SKU in the Product detail subapp. Either the component dialog should have an SKU field or the Product detail subapp should show the product ID.
