 Description

3 out of 4 times, when I select the link with the link browser FF 3 crashes.

Take a text image paragraph, add some text into the body (fck), select text, clieck on link button, select "browse server", select a page to link to, press ok - FF crashes.

I can confirm that this happens on OSX only. No problems in windows / linux.

Also the case with magnolia 3.6.3, my Firefox (3.0.3) is crashing on a regular base when browsing the repository (website, dms) with the FCK-Editor.

I was able to reproduce it in linux (ubuntu distribution), also we have a customer that happened the issue in Windows.
Hard to say why but using the firebug plug-in this issue disappears (tested in linux/windows).

I see both this issue and the SUPPORT-283 are with Magnolia 3.6.3; a couple of fck-related issues have been fixed in 3.6.4/3.6.5, can you reproduce it with 3.6.5 too ?

If not, what about 4.0 ? We might have to backport MAGNOLIA-2477 to the 3.6 branch if this fixes the issue.

Comment by Zdenek Skodik [ 29/May/09 ]

I have tested on both Magnolia 3.6.5 and 4.0 (both using fckEditor 2.6.3) without the Firebug plug-in.
I have tried it with various scenarios and this issue didn't occur. So it looks that the issue appear
only with earlier versions of fckEditor (affected Magnolia 3.6.3 using fckEditor 2.6.2, 3.5.8 even 2.4.3)
and with earlier unsolved fckEditor related bugs. So if you want I can backport the changes made
in MAGNOLIA-2477 to affected branches.

FYI, this issue was OSX 10.5 specific as mentioned in the Environment field. Did you test it on OSX or on Linux?

Comment by Zdenek Skodik [ 29/May/09 ]

yes I have seen that this issue is OSX related but as mentioned above we have a customer
that happened this issue also under Windows and I have tested it under Linux.

Then maybe update the Environment field too

Comment by Zdenek Skodik [ 22/Oct/09 ]

So the workaround is in use of later version of fckEditor than 2.6.2.

Comment by Jan Haderka [ 22/Oct/09 ]

Boris, could you please double check if you still have this issue with 4.1.1 release? We use FCKE 2.6.3 there so the issue is gone (at least on linux).

Comment by Tom Wespi [ 22/Oct/09 ]

It crashs with
FF 3.0.14
Magnolia CE 4.1.1
Mac OS X 10.5.8

then it should be strictly OSX related issue. At least on linux (tested on Ubuntu 9.04) it doesn't occur with fckEditor 2.6.3 which is used since Magnolia 3.6.5 till now.
