 Description

The current installer still has the old pictures with Magnolia flowers. Please coordinate with Andrea to get something that fits our current design.

Greg, can you post the image sizes you need or attach the current images as a reference?

Comment by Magnolia International [ 22/Dec/08 ]

The current images we use are at
http://svn.magnolia-cms.com/svn/enterprise/bundle/trunk/magnolia-enterprise-installer/src/installer/resources/
(language.jpg is the "splash" image with language choice, installer.jpg is the "sidebar" image used throughout the rest of the installer)

We also use icons - the psd source file is at
http://svn.magnolia-cms.com/svn/enterprise/bundle/trunk/magnolia-enterprise-installer/src/gfx/
– out of which we genere the .icns and .dll files in the previous directory.
(and those icons could use a serious refresh )

I'm very sorry - I forgot about that ..............

Maybe I would'nt do more than that (->see attached files). Because it's really simple - and beautiful.
What do you think about?

What Icons do you need? There's only the big «g» attached. What ist this for?

Comment by Boris Kraft [ 15/Jan/09 ]

Gregory, Andrea has attached two new images - simply green, which you can use for the new installer.

Regarding the icons I think it is not quite clear what these are about. The "G" is the favicon - we won't change that right now.

The icon is the application icon - used :

  • as the installer's icon (both on the Finder/file explorer and in the dock/taskbar)
  • as the start/stop scripts icon shortcuts which the installer optionally drops on the desktop/applications menu on Windows

(thanks for the images, they're neat)

I have attached a new «g» .......
??

Comment by Boris Kraft [ 17/Jan/09 ]

I love the new G!

Yeah I like it too We'll need different sizes or formats - I don't exactly remember how I did it last time, I only remember it was quite a pita to generate the .ico (windows) and .icns (osx) correctly. If you have any idea about this, let me know Otherwise, I'll probably tell you the sizes I need as soon as I remember how it works.

Images updated – icons will be updated for next rc or final release

Andrea, could you please attach a large version of the icon in psd format? OR, of course, if you know how to use IconBuilder, that'd be even better

Comment by Magnolia International [ 13/Feb/09 ]

Also, if you look at the attached psd, you'll see layers for alternative icons; would be great if you could adapt those too (start, stop, link to documentation, open-browser-to-Magnolia)

I'm sorry, I have no idea how to use this IconBilder... How large do you need the g? Is the new attached version large enough?

For the other Icons: can you please attache a screenshot, that I can see where they are used?
-Thanks

Comment by Magnolia International [ 16/Feb/09 ]

They're used as desktop shortcut icons on windows; can't make a screenshot right now. I had created them by simply using 1 of the "extra" layer for each different icon on top of the main layer (plus one with just the main layer of course)

As for the size, it would be nice if we had at least one version of at least 128px - so they look nice on large osx desktops/docks.

Like this? -> see attached files
(I don't know windows ....)

Comment by Magnolia International [ 18/Feb/09 ]

Yep, that seems fine, thanks

They work nicely on both windows and osx - todo for windows: check the icon indexes (icon order has changed since last version, need to make sure the proper icon is used for the various shortcuts)

Here are some screenshots of what the new image and icons look like on Windows.
