It seems that the problem only affects webkit and opera browsers (no problem with FF and IE). The reason for why those browsers add the seems to be this

Tested on Ubuntu/Chrome 5.0.375.23 dev + Ubuntu/FF 3.5 to see if the change introduced regressions. |
