This is actually a bug in Resin, but it does not hurt to make this change in Magnolia for the benefit of other servlet containers that also parse web.xml without following the xsd. Resin fails to parse web.xml because the description tag ("magnolia 2.1") appears after the display-name ("magnolia"). The xsd allows this order, so this is technically the fault of Resin. However, changing the order of the description and display-name tags is not incorrect, so I recommend that we go ahead and do it on Magnolia for compatibility purposes. The new order should be: <description>magnolia 2.1</description> |
