 Description

We should improve the wording on the alert boxes shown when a node is marked for deletion. The current message is somewhat technical.

I've suggested to unify both boxes (for a node, which will be deactivated and marked for deletion as well as for one, which will only be marked for deletion), but show them in both cases and to show the wording to this:

"The page and its sub pages will be marked for deletion. They will
be deleted from all instances, once you activate this change."
OK, Cancel

There has been some discussion as to whether we should show any boxes at all, be it in one of the cases mentioned in the description of this issue or even both.

My take on this is that we keep the user informed that deleting a node actually only marks for deletion and he still has to activate the change. I realize, though, that to all experienced users, these boxes could become annoying. Nevertheless, I think we should show the boxes for now, since there's a change in behavior and undoing a deletion is actually not as easy as clicking on an "undo" button or opening the context menu and choose "undelete".

A bit to this might be that we mention deactivation at alert box even though a node was not activated previously.

The message is also misleading because may let the user believe that the node is deactivated immediately, without first confirming ("activating") the changes. Eventually, confirming a deletion implies deactivating the node on the public instance.
