In a FreeMarker template, doing if mgnl.editMode can be quite useful to conditionally display edit bars or other elements. Perhaps as a separate function, we should also check for the current user's permissions - if she doesn't have permissions to write on the current element (or on a given element if we add another function), it doesn't make sense to display an edit bar. |

I totally agree. We are finalizing 4.4.2 hence I am moving this issue to 4.4.3. |

Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on issues with a higher impact, and more votes. |
