5.x uses Tomcat 7 already. As we'll support 4.5 for quite a while we might have to update to Tomcat 7 - especially when java 6 will reach his end of life. |

Tomcat 7 has been around for a year now. Market share is still only 10% (http://www.paasmag.com/?p=200) but AFAIK there's no real known problems. |

Tomcat 7 is the servlet 3 RI, TC6 is Servlet 2.5's. We've just about upgraded to Servlet API 2.5, so sticking to TC6 makes sense, unless there is value in upgrading to TC7. |

Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on issues with a higher impact, and more votes. |
