I activate a content on authoring and get the content back with en error (this makes sense) but it is hard for the User to understand that the complete line are down.

Error Message In Activation Workitem Dialog:
Can't activate: : info.magnolia.cms.exchange.ExchangeException: info.magnolia.cms.exchange.ExchangeException: Message received from subscriber: javax.jcr.ItemNotFoundException: Can't delete a non-existing node data

Could you please provide the version of Magnolia on which you ran into the issue?
Could you please also attach the stacktrace from the log file from your public instance?
