 Description

Currently it's not possible to export (and import) Users, Groups and Roles.

When doing User-Management locally on a Notebook, it's very annoying to have to redo all the entries on the final staging server. A feature to export Groups, Users and Roles would be very useful.

IIRC the import/export servlets allow export of any repository

Even if not possible in the GUI (won't add it) you can use the import & export servlet to do so.

We added a shortcut in the 'Tools' menupoint.

As an other possibility you will like to try the developement util (also found under Tools).

Sorry, Boris, forgot to mention that this in the WCM GUI. You are right, you can export/import any part of the repository, but the Magnolia WCM GUI does not offer the export/import functionality for module roots like in Groups, Roles and Users.
Since Groups, Roles and Users are all on the "root" level, perhaps you could add an Export/Import button, because internally you know the starting position of each Group, User and Role.

Yet another option is to use the deployment manager delivered with the enterprise edition - it allows you to define arbitrary packages and import / export them as a single entity, which comes in quite handy

Sorry, completely missed this fascinating tool. Even a JCR Browser is there!
Very helpful! So please close this ticket.
