The spool servlet should not be needed: there is now a "bypass" property in the filter definition in web.xml which specify a list of path that should not be blocked by CmsFilter.
Examples works fine for me with trunk, can you check that the definition in web.xml is ok and that you have the latest code for CmsFilter?

Comment by Stojan Peshov [ 11/Jul/06 ]

I'm aware of all that, I'm actually trying this on the latest trunk without any changes made to it
Also logs folder is not created on start...

I'll try with the fresh download from svn

Comment by Stojan Peshov [ 11/Jul/06 ]

the problem with log folder was resolved after fresh download from svn, but the spool problem still remains
also noticed that Mail, Import, Export from Tools Menu results with a Tomcat Error Page
I guess this is all part of Fabrizio's current work, so I'll wait ... (you can close this issue)

Thanks
Stojan

no, it should work (mail, import, export are untouched at the moment!), I'll try with a clean copy

pages stated by stojan does not work, the log folder creation is more or less random ... we have a clean automated build of magnolia everyday. Maybe I should make it available to the magnolia dev team...

Comment by Fabrizio Giustina [ 13/Jul/06 ]

I finally found out what was wrong: it was working properly but only if the magnolia instance was bound to the root context, bypassed urls were not evaluated properly with a context path.
sorry, I was testing with a magnolia instance bound to the root context since rc2 showed a couple of serious problems with that...
