 Description

As a developer, I want to define a property of a content type to link to a content type that is backed by an external content system, so that authors can link external content to local content.

As a content author, I want to select external content from a field in a dialog, so that I can combine different sources of content together.

For example:

  • A developer could create a blog content type which is local, which has a property to link to a product content type which is backed by an external PIM system.
  • Author can create a page in Magnolia with marketing content for a product category, and have it link to many related products which are in an external PIM or ecommerce system.

Acceptance criteria:

  • Developer can configure whether the property uses a Select fieldtype or a Link fieldtype UI.
  • Author can choose external content via a Select field
  • Author can choose external content via a Link field which opens a chooser dialog
  • Works with light development.
