I was not able to configure the AppLauncherLayout that a user without the role 'superuser' sees the generated app.

Hello tomwespi, by default only superuser has access to a newly created CT-based app. Once you specify the roles and the ACLs, you can adjust an app's security to allow to be used by other users as well.

Example:

In the Community Travel demo and with the demo Bookshelf app installed, to allow the pre-configured user called eric to use the Bookshelf CT-generated app, add the following

permissions:
  roles:
    editors: travel-demo-editor

 to the app's descriptor.

After the superuser adds the app to the app launcher, eric (or any member of the travel-demo-editor group) should also see the CT-based app in the app launcher:
