 Description

In the dialog class

info.magnolia.ui.form.field.definition.LinkFieldDefinition

the

info.magnolia.dam.app.ui.field.DamFilePreviewComponent

throws an error when choose a folder instead of an asset.

To reproduce: http://demoauthor.magnolia-cms.com -> choose File Download List -> Choose a folder

This was working till the version 2.0 / 5.3

Quick fix:
From admin central, go to
/modules/standard-templating-kit/dialogs/components/content/stkDownloadList/form/tabs/tabQuery/fields/link
and remove the contentPreviewDefinition node.

Nice but did not solve the issue.

  • go to /demo-project/multimedia/image-gallery
    • there you need to have the possibility to select a folder (we are displaying the images from a selected folder)
  • current issue can be see under /demo-project/about/subsection-articles/article , go to one Extra component click on New Extra Component, / select Download List, there you should be able to select a folder of asset's...

Really, the simplest solution is to remove the node contentPreviewDefinition from /modules/standard-templating-kit/dialogs/components/content/stkDownloadList/form/tabs/tabQuery/fields/link by adding a STK MVH task...

In addition if you want to introduce such a restriction, it may be configurable in order to allow selection folders (that is the case in several of our components)
