 Description

I found out that in 5.4.4 uploaded PDFs had application/pdf as mime type in DAM. Now they use application/x-pdf. Where is this change documented?

This has following side effects:

  • The Mime Type will not be found in the list of mime types in Magnolia.
  • Makes the PDF Preview Rendering useless for new Documents because the system will not recognize that it is a pdf.

Please provde a patch for this malfunction.

It seems to be a local issue with firefox. My colleague tried it with his firefox and it works with the correct mime type.

I want to inform you that i found out where the Problem with my Firefox was. I found out that if you have a specific mime type set in Preferences > Applications then Firefox will upload it in the specific mime type. I wondering why this happens but in my case PDFs are setup as application/x-pdf. As i removed this from Firefox it works in the right direction. I guess that this special behaviour comes from Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installation. But in the end it was totaly new for me because i think that in this list firefox only show me how it will interact with mime type that i downloaded or want to open.

I think you can reconstruct this issue by using the mimeTypes.rds attached in this Ticket. You need to add this under your Profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data
