Can you describe a bit more concrete the new feature you like and the problem you can't solve now and how the new feature would help to solve it. I changed the priority from blocker to minor and moved the issue from bug to new feature level. |

post from a mail by giancarlo: Please correct me if I get things wrong What DF wants, is indeed a blocker for now. He wants to add a large file (large is > 100MB) to the DMS of the Author instance. There he adds some additional content, like description, etc. Once he is done, he wants to push the uploaded file (let's call it the DMS page) to the publish instance. The problem is that the activation within the DMS does not work for large files yet. Magnolia is working on that issue. As a workaround DF used the export/import mechanism provided by Magnolia/Jackrabbit. This works for, let's say, "quite large" files (maybe up to 1GB). Export actually worked always fine, but Importing into the Publish instance failed, if the total amount of all pages exceeded 1GB (approx.). The annoying part was that DF had to export each DMS page individually and import each file again in the Publish instance. What Magnolia is fixing is that the usual page activation (mark a page and click "Activate Page") also works for DMS. At the moment, only small files can be "activated" directly and only if you click "next" in the workflow's inbox. So it's definitely not a feature, but a bug. |

This issue is mainly about activating large files. I changed the name and the comment. |

Giancarlo, could you confirm this with the current trunk. there was a problem in activation (not directly related to this issue) which has been fixed and I could activate big files without any problem |
